Fundraising and sponsorship
Our active fundraising and sponsorship group is work on a strategic plan for our P&C, and also is assisting to develop the important community and business relationships which can assist our school.
How you can support our school
Nundah State School (NSS) values education as a transformative experience and has always provided the best possible opportunities for students of all backgrounds, experiences, ages, and cultures. We believe primary education is the most formative years so we aim to nurture each child’s skills to be prepared for secondary school.
NSS strives to meet the educational needs of all students but meeting these needs at a time of rising costs and restricted government funding is a challenge. In the past, private support has played an important role in our school’s development and helped to construct buildings, build and renovate the school pool and more recently add heating, sports and music equipment, computers and the latest electrical technology, assist students learning development and lastly, help beautify the school grounds.
The Nundah State School Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is a legal entity established to harness the generous support of concerned people who will help the school and its students achieve their goals.
With the continued support of the local community we can achieve so much more.
Funding priorities
The gifts one generation gives to another in the field of education are a particularly valuable legacy. Such gifts contribute to preserving and expanding the minds of the next generation of leaders.
The P&C’s key funding objectives are to support areas of need that are above and beyond government funding. These areas include:
Tax Deductible Funds
The Nundah State School P&C Association (ABN: 45 212 832 149) is a Charitable Institution and currently operates the following tax deductible funds:
Funding is solely used for the acquisition, construction, or maintenance of the school buildings.
Funding is solely used for the library’s activities and acquisition policy (Books, and other literary material for reading, study or reference), staffing, advertising, and membership.
The Australian Sports Foundation Ltd (ASF) can offer donors the benefit of tax deductibility for donations for new sporting equipment to Nundah State School.
What is a gift?
Not all gifts are tax deductible. Tax deductible gifts to the P&C have the following characteristics:
there is a transfer of money or property
the transfer is made voluntarily
the transfer arises by way of benefaction
no material benefit is received by the donor.
Examples of payments that are not gifts include:
purchases of raffle tickets
purchases of items such as chocolates and pens
the cost of attending fundraising dinners, even if the cost exceeds the value of the dinner
payments where the person has an understanding with the recipient that the payments will be used to provide a benefit for the 'donor'.
One-off gift
As the saying goes, every dollar helps. This is true for Nundah State School
We can assure you that when you give a financial gift to NSS it is combined with hundreds of other one-off gifts. Together, they add up to make a very significant contribution and a major difference to the lives of all students.

Bequest
In nominating NSS as a beneficiary in your Will, you are investing in the future of the School and the students of the future.
Making a provision in your Will for NSS is a very special gift which will benefit many generations of students, teaching staff and the Nundah community. It will contribute to social advancements that will serve present and future generations.
A bequest may involve:
Monetary gifts;
A percentage of an estate;
Assets (property, work of art, shares, etc)
Residuary of an estate (what is left after other gifts and costs have been deducted).
There are numerous ways that your gift will help. The President of the P&C and Fundraising Committee will be happy to speak with you about this in more detail if required.
A bequest to the Nundah State School is also an opportunity to associate your name with the School and its many activities and achievements. The benefit may also be established in perpetuity.
Bequests given to Nundah State School are managed through the P&C and we are happy to help you or your advisors, make your bequest or develop terms to include in your Will. All discussions are confidential.
A simple form of bequest would give to strategic priorities as determined by the School Principal and P&C President. By simply nominating that your bequest goes to support the NSS you provide an unrestricted bequest allowing the P&C flexibility to decide how it will be invested and used.
Suggested wording for bequests (to be discussed with your adviser)
I/We give to The Nundah State School P&C Association (ABN: 45 212 832 149) (specify the sum or proportion of the estate) and I request the receipt of Nundah State School be accepted as sufficient discharge for the same.
If your bequest is to a particular area at NSS, we would suggest the following wording:
I/We give (specify amount or proportion of estate, or nature of asset or gift) to The Nundah State School P&C Association (ABN: 45 212 832 149). I request the P&C apply this bequest for the purposes of (specify area). If the P&C in consultation with the School considers that my intentions are best fulfilled in another or additional ways, then I express the wish that my bequest be applied in any allied field of study or such other purposes which in the P&C view most closely matches my expressed intentions.
We encourage you to seek the guidance of your adviser and to discuss a bequest to Nundah State School with your family.
Memorial gifts
When someone close to us passes away, we experience grief, sadness and ultimately an appreciation of all memories we have of that special person. A special way to honour the memory of a loved-one or colleague and to fund the vital work of NSS, is to encourage your relatives, loved-ones and friends to make a gift in lieu of giving flowers.
To inform friends and mourners of your preference of a gift to NSS in lieu of flowers, we suggest you include this request in the funeral notice and notify the P&C..
For more information or resources for your loved one’s funeral, please contact us at pandc@nundahss.eq.edu.au.
Current supporters
NSS wishes to acknowledge the generosity of those that have supported the school over the last 12 months and strongly encourage parents and the Nundah community to support them where possible.
