“Tucky”

The Nundah State School Tuckshop, ‘Tucky’, offers a variety of different meals, snacks and drinks for your children, including many healthy options. We operate five days a week from 8:00am to 2:30pm.

Lunch times are:

First break (main meal) between 11:00am and 11:45am (play time 11-11:30; eating time 11:30-11:45)

Second break (snack) between 1:20pm and 1:50pm (play time 1:20-1:40; eating time 1:40-1:50).

Tucky’s current menu (PDF, 168 KB) is available. You will find a large variety of choices for students’ meals and snacks, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options. We strive to offer meals from diverse cultures throughout the school year.

HOW DO I ORDER TUCKSHOP?

Our pre-ordering system, either online or using brown paper bags, is important for helping with the smooth running of Tucky. Bag pre-ordering also reduces food wastage at the end of the day.

1. Place your order using Qkr app

Orders can be placed through Qkr, our easy-to-use online ordering facility. Register your account on the Qkr website or download the Qkr App.

Follow the steps either online or on the App to place an order for each child. A separate order is required for each lunch break (e.g. one order for first break and one order for second break).

2. Place your order using a brown paper bag

If online ordering is not possible, brown paper bag orders can be dropped off at Tucky either before school or by the bell.

Please ensure the following information is included on the bag:

• child’s name

• child’s class

• first or second break

• the items the child is ordering with prices.

A separate bag is required for each child and for each lunch break (e.g. one bag for first break and one bag for second break).

It is a good idea when ordering on brown paper bags to use the exact money if possible.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Tucky is managed by the Tuckshop Manager who is assisted by a dedicated team employed by the Nundah State School P&C Committee. Our Tucky team members all work part-time and rely on the assistance of volunteers to successfully run the service five days a week.

We have some fantastic regular helpers and we are always looking for help from new volunteers. You don't need to come in all day. Our peak volunteer helper times are:

• from 8:45am – for fresh food preparation

• during first break and second break to assist with serving

• on Fridays when Tucky is a hub of activity.

We are happy to accommodate you and slot you in whenever it suits you. Tucky cannot run without our wonderful volunteers and your children will love to see you at Tucky.

Another way to contribute to Tucky is by donating “Homebake”. This means producing cupcakes, slices or sweet muffins at home at times that suit you, then dropping them off any day to Tucky (either fresh or frozen) for sale on Fridays. We are always in need of Homebake supplies and the children love them! Please make sure there are no nuts or nut products in any donated Homebake.

Volunteering at Tucky is a great way to meet new people and get involved in the school community. Please feel free to contact us on (07) 3635 5837 or email with any questions.

We look forward to welcoming you at Tucky!
